The Society has a library housed in the Jury Room at the Guildhall in Leicester.
Members can borrow books and periodicals. The library consists of an extensive collection of books devoted to Leicester and Leicestershire as well as more general books on archaeology and history. There are also runs of periodicals from other societies with which we exchange journals.
Fully searchable online catalogues of the library compiled by Linda Butt are now available below.
The library is open on the first and third Sunday of every month between 14.00 and 16.00 except between November and January (inclusive). The library is also closed on Bank Holiday weekends and occasionally when major events are taking place in the rest of the Guildhall. You can check that the library will be open by contacting the Librarian - please find contact details on the Officers page.
Any enquiries should be addressed to the Honorary Librarian, Aubrey Stevenson.
