Thank you for saving the Leicestershire Torc

Crowdfunder rescues rare local treasure

As the year draws to a close we want to thank all those who helped make our Crowdfunding campaign to save the Leicestershire Torc a huge success.

Thank to your extremely generous contributions and the sharing of the campaign far and wide we were able to secure an incredible £13,465.29 (including gift aid) towards the acquisition of this unique object. LAHS’s Acquisitions Fund also contributed £5,000.

Thanks to additional funding from The Art Fund, Arts Council England/Victoria and Albert Museum Purchase Grant Fund, The Headley Trust, Market Harborough Historical Society and Leicestershire Fieldworkers, Leicestershire County Council Museums were able to acquire the torc.

More details will be shared soon on the project to interpret, analyse and display this most wonderful object.

Thank you!
