Diet of the Grey Family at Bradgate House: bringing together the historical and archaeological evidence

Rachel Small is an Environmental Officer at the University of Leicester Archaeological Services. In 2023, she completed her PhD, which considered the extent to which humoral theory (a medical ideology) influenced consumption behaviour in early modern England.

This talk will focus on the case study that was used, investigating the diet of the Grey family of Bradgate Park, through a combination of animal bones analysis, plant remains from recent excavations and historical documents.

No booking necessary. Entry is free of charge. 

Doors open from 7.00pm. The lecture will take place at 7.30pm, at the Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre 3, University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester (LE1 7RH)

Free parking is available in the Danielle Brown Sports Centre car park which is accessed through the entrance on University Road closest to Welford Road (entrance 1).
