Thursday 14th May 2026 at 7.30pm.
This talk will tell the stories of moulds, axes, swords and hoards from Bronze Age Leicestershire. As part of the Leverhulme funded New History of Bronze project at the University of Leicester, Rachel Crellin and her colleagues have been studying the Bronze Age metalwork from Leicestershire. Their work has explored evidence for the production, use and destruction of the objects, using metalwork wear-analysis as well as techniques such as 3D scanning, microXRF and x-ray analysis. This talk will share the project's analyses of material from Leicestershire and contextualise them within the broader project.
Leicestershire County Council Museums will also be bringing objects which were part of the study for attendees to view.
No booking necessary. Entry to the talk is free of charge.
Location: Clephan 0.01, De Montfort University, Leicester. (Click here for venue location, paid parking outside the building is £2-3)
