Contributor guidelines

We actively welcome pieces across a wide range of topics relating to different aspects of Leicestershire and Rutland's past.

Title: keep it short and specific, a single sentence without colons and subclauses. (NB A 65-character title will be displayed whole in a Google search).

Word Length: 1000 to 2000 words.

Images: At least 3 images are needed, copyright cleared for web publication. Images need short captions.

Style Suggestions: keep sentences short; one idea per paragraph; 4-5 sentences per paragraph. First paragraph of a blog should be the conclusion. The message should get across in 3 sentences.

Subtitles are useful.
